I LOST 1/2 lb at weigh in tonight! YAY!!!

That takes me to a total loss of 3 STONE and also I am FINALLY within my healthy BMI Weight Range!!! (note: on the ww website the bmi range for my height (5ft 4in) is 8st 5lb to 10st 6lb)

BTW - what is it with BMI calculators?? My BMI changes on every site I look on?!
As do the healthy weight ranges?!
From 4 websites I have been told :

  1.  7st 11lb - 9st 13lb
  2.  7st 10lb - 10st 9lb
  3.  7st 9.8lb - 10st 5.6lb
  4.  8st 5lb - 10st 6lb
 ....... HUH?!?!

Anyhoo - I don't care - I'll lose until I feel good - this won't be much more, but I know I'm not there just yet.

While my pedometer doesn't show any AP's earned, I did go to the gym today, but didn't put my pedometer into activity mode as I don't like to put a label on how hard I'm working ... I just figure the pedometer will pick up the movement and as long as I get to healthy then that's fine with me :o)

I did 20 mins on the treadmill, majority walking with a couple short bouts of running.
Then 10 mins on the bike
And then 10 mins of weight machines

I'm just happy I made myself go, as I really couldn't be bothered, but had already decided on it last night :o)

I figure that, since my Father in Law normally takes bubs for a few hours twice a week (Tuesday and Thursday), that as long as I go on ONE of these days, and once at the weekend, that I still get a day to chill in the week, and one complete weekend day to spend with hubby and bubs! Can't be bad can it!

So I'm thinking Saturday morning - get it out the way early on and then I can enjoy the weekend :o) yay!

Progress

I just wanted to share that today is the first time I have walked down to the shops DURING HALF TERM since I was mugged last November.

Every school holiday this year I have purposely driven everywhere through the fear of it happening again (It was half term when I was mugged).

Hubby and I have been selling quite a bit of stuff on ebay, and I decided last night that me and Bubs would walk down to the post office in order to get me some steps and - hopefully - some AP's.

Despite knowing it was half term, I'd forgotten my worry and it was only when I saw all the kids in the centre that I realised I had done it. And I felt good :o)

Logically I know its not likely to happen again, but there's always that niggle in the back of my mind.

So I just wanted to share that I am proud of myself today :o)

I forgot to wear my pedometer today :o(

I didn't even leave the house tho, so I sincerely doubt I'd have got to 'earning' mode.

I had an active-ish day tho, as we donated our Chinchilla's today to a company that visit schools and hospitals and entertains at children's parties (along with many other things - see their website here ) - an 'animal man' as I've always called them.

We have been looking for a home for over a year for them, as we just haven't got the time or room for them any more, but I was being particularly picky, as I didn't just want to advertise them in the paper and possibly get any old random buying them as Chinchilla's are quite obscure animals and I wanted to make sure they went to an experienced home.

Well I'm glad we held out!

We had offered to donate them to Hoo Farm , but they couldn't accommodate any more chins :o(
But we gave them another call at the weekend (last time we asked was around May time), and while they still didn't need any, they knew a man who did!

Critterish Allsorts are a company based in Rugeley - so not too far from us - who already had one Chinchilla, Sebastian, but were looking for a friend for him :o)

I'm just so happy, cos they are going to be getting SO much interaction and freedom!! :o) yay

So I spent the morning cleaning them out, and cleaning around their cages (sand, fur and poos) but then ended up half re-arranging my living room because of ALLLL the extra room(!) and kept finding stuff to vacuum so I spent most of the day lugging the vacuum to and from the kitchen! haha

every little helps tho!

They have kindly posted some photos on their Facebook Page of Lulu and Milo settling in to their new home




Food wise, I have eaten more points than I would have liked, but considering I hadn't planned Tea and had to use whatever was in the freezer I don't think I did too bad.

All I've got planned for tomorrow is having my nails done :o) so I will plan my food for the rest of the week and write my shopping list!

I've decided I've GOT to start planning my meals BEFORE weigh in so that I can have my food shop delivered on a Thursday ready for the new week

I'm thinking a Monday - I have seen on another blog (Mrs Shilts) she does 'Meal Planning Mondays' which has a nice ring to it :o)

Also I AM going to the gym this weekend, and am going to start going during the week again starting next week (my father in law takes Bub's out on a Tuesday and a Thursday, so I've no excuses to not go at least ONCE a week!!

And I REALLY have got to start using my membership!!! (bleurch! lol)

So much for the chilled day in.

I went on a little mooch to Telford, around the shops etc, spent WAY too much money, but was good and took a couple of things back after deciding I didn't really need them :o)

Got what I took as a compliment in new look - i was trying cardigans on, and this lady kept watching me, and then she noticed me watching her watch me and she said sorry for staring but every time she looked over at me she really liked the cardi's I was trying on - which I know is more about the cardi's themselves, but I took it to mean that they mustn't have looked too bad on me cos they hadn't put her off!!

So I bought one.

And it's a Size TEN! WOOP!

Turned out I was actually out shopping much longer than I had planned or anticipated, and I had to pay SIX POUND for the car park (full day rate as it was a short stay car park!)

BOOHOO!!

I managed to earn 'healthy' status on my pedometer tho, as well as earn 1AP while I was out shopping, and have earnt another this evening so can't complain! :o)

Downside to today is that I nearly burnt the house down ...

Ok not quite.

I'd unpacked one of the carrier bags (Asda) in the kitchen, and had put a couple of things on the hob.
I had also turned the oven on to warm up for bub's and hubby's tea (as I was going out to WI), but then bubs had wondered into the kitchen and, without me noticing, had turned the hob on!!

So the (plastic) packaging from one of the coverall bibs I'd bought him had completely melted and there was smoke pouring all over the place, and the SMELL was just AWFUL

I've had a headache all evening from it :o(

I really really REALLY understood the age old "I need eyes in the back of my head" saying after today I can tell you!!

SCARY!! :o(



Down to business then :




I lost a happy half at weigh in this evening :o)

I would have liked more (a whole lb would have been nice) but we're never really satisfied are we??

BUT I AM happy with my half, as it takes me down to 10st 6lb (which I *think* is the lightest I have ever been in my adult life, as I think that is the lowest I got to in 2007)
Also it means I'm now only a happy half lb away from a healthy BMI! EEK!

also 2lb away from having lost 25% of my starting body weight.

That's a whole quarter of myself gone.

Whats that... a leg??

How amazing am I! :o)

Baby steps but I am getting so close to my goal!

OOH! Just realised I'm only half a lb from losing 3st!!!

This is my bag



It's from Next and I bought it approx 3 years ago when I got an office job so that I could cart everything to and from work.

The job lasted a week.

The bag, however, was much more faithful :o)



I find it to be a FAB size for carting everything that myself and Bubs might need on a trip out.

I will just point out now that I carry a LOT of stuff.
I think I just like to be prepared ... at least that's my excuse...

I think this bag would service most people as an overnight bag, haha!

I had rather a hectic day today (for me)

This morning as I was undressing bubs to give him a shower, I noticed he had a speckly rash over his chest/stomach and back.
I rang the doc and they gave me an appointment for 3pm. Helpful.

So because my mum was off work today, We popped to Sainsburys and then went to visit her as I haven't seen her for a while (8days), and she had a look and thought it looked like an allergic reaction to something (?)

To pass some time, I went to Telford for a little mooch before coming home for some lunch, then straight back out to the docs.

Doc had a look and said it is a "non-specific viral rash" which is nothing to worry about, not contagious, not bothering him, not harmful in any way.

Odd.

So we came home again, and I cooked tea (Cottage Pie - from scratch :o) ), and as soon as that was eaten, we were out the door again to go to WW!

So without any specific "lets go for a walk to earn some points" walking, I have clocked up 9732 steps and 1AP! Go me!

Tonight I WILL be making this up to 2AP! (775 steps to go)

The weeks go by so fast!?! It's scary.
discounting tomorrow there are only NINE weigh ins left until Christmas. EEEEK!!

I'll be happy as long as I lose SOMETHING.

I dragged myself out for a walk today - despite the wind, horrible grey clouds and the threat of rain - go me! I usually use the smallest excuse not to go! :o)

I'm currently 400 steps away from 2AP, but will make sure I earn them by the time I go to bed.
I will update my total steps and mileage in the morning :o)
I'm feeling pretty good with how this week is going - food and activity-wise.
I just hope it shows on the scales!

Talking of scales -

Now, I know I'm not supposed to Sneaky Peak, and I have cut down a LOT , but this morning I couldn't resist.

Now one of the main reasons I am trying not to sneaky peak is because of the crazy inconsistency of my scales.

This morning they confirmed my suspicions that they don't actually MEASURE my weight!

They just pluck random numbers from thin air!!

seriously!!

Because of their past reputation, I have taken to weighing myself 3 times, and taking the best of the 3 results (as in the weight that comes up twice out of 3 goes, as opposed to the lightest weight ;o) haha)

So back to this morning :

Attempt 1 : 10st 4lb
Attempt 2 : 10st 8 & 7/8ths of a lb (??!?!?!??!)

Now, I am going to assume that my weight is somewhere around 10st 5lb (bear in mind this was a first-thing-in-the-morning weigh in)

But, in 4 tries, my scales have me as weighing across a SIX LB range ?!?!


Think I have a new item to put on my Christmas List to Santa!!


On a positive note :

I decided today to FINALLY sort through a box of clothes that has been sitting in our bedroom since we moved 2 years ago!
It was all my Goal clothes from last time around that I had separated out when we moved, on account of my being 8months pregnant and completely unable to fit into ANYTHING.

So anyhoo, as I was sifting through I found a few things that I wouldn't mind wearing now (not dated too much in the 3 whole years since I bought them ;o) lol) and I had SO much FUN trying them on!!

COS THEY FIT!!!!


I'm quite liking this :

The focal point of the photo being the SIZE TEN waistcoat that I have buttoned up :o)

Also, I tried on a pair of size 12 petite black trousers, and - dare I say it - they were actually a little LOOSE on the waist


But unfortunately my thighs have always been a problem area, so I'm not (yet) destined for the size 10s!

But still ... It felt GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!

YAY!!

Ok, so I didn't reach 2AP :o(

I was sat on the sofa writing blog posts too long, so by the time I went to get ready for bed (where I would have walked on the spot while brushing my teeth ;o) ), my pedometer had flicked past midnight and reset for the new day!

Cayla had arranged another point-earning walk around the park today for 3pm, so this morning (lunchtime) since we needed some milk, I dragged hubby and Bubs (in his pushchair) out for a walk - planning to get to 'Earning' mode before I left for the park.

It worked - we went the long way round, and by the time I got home I was in 'earning' mode and had done a few more steps on top! :o)

Last I looked at the pedometer before I left the house it was saying I had 1600+ steps to go until I earned 1AP, and I know I have to have done 2100 to earn the first AP...

So. I get in the car, put my seat belt on ... and hear a beep :


The EFFIN thing had reset!


So, best I could do was add up the steps I knew I had taken :

6304 to get to earning mode
400+ before it reset (GRR!)
8423 after the reset (MORE GRRR!)

TOTAL : 15,127 steps @ 26.4in (stride length set on pedometer)
             = 6.3 miles

Point-wise, the only way to work it out is, discounting the steps it took me to get to earning mode (6304) and knowing that I have to do 2100 to earn my 1st AP point, I will base it on that and so :

(8823 steps)

2100 + 2100 + 2100 + 2100 = 8400 = 4AP

I gotta say, that sucks a bit considering I've done over 15000 steps :o(

It sucks, too, that I have to do 6300 steps before I even start earning! over 2.5 miles!

I just don't have that far to walk in my every day life! :o(

But hey - least I got off my bum today :o) yay me!
