Hmmmm...

This week hasn't gone entirely to plan :(

Thursday we were meant to have bbq chicken, which didn't happen because of the lamb stew being a day late because of being ill last Monday when I was meant to make it.

So Thursday was Leftover Lamb Stew instead of BBQ Chicken.

Yesterday (Friday) was then going to be BBQ chicken after I'd been in Birmingham all day for the Hobbycrafts/Sewing For Pleasure show at the NEC (which tbh I wasn't overly impressed on the cross stitch side! Cayla got some fab stuff and even fabbier BARGAINS! The one stall everything was £1, or 12 for £10! amazing! And RAMMED!!! Lol

I did get a couple little kits (pics to follow) and some new thread heaven (plus a spare, cos our puppy has developed a taste for it!! :/ ) but overall I was disappointed! We actually left after 2½ hours cos we had seen and bought everything we wanted, so we went into Birmingham centre for some window shopping. Kinda wish we hadn't as I was trying to find holiday clothes, which apart from one maxi dress (which they didnt have my size in) it was a complete FAIL and totally depressing. I HATE clothes shopping. I have NO idea what suits me, or what does with what!

So Gok Wan, if you're reading, a personalised capsule wardrobe would be great, ta!



Anyhoo, BBQ Chicken didn't happen cos a certain STUPID supermarket had sent me meat with a REEEEEALLY short shelf life, order came wednesday and it went out of date Thursday unbeknownst to me cos I just figured it would have at least 2 or 3 days on it! GRRRR!

So complaint via phone about that and the mince they sent us - also thursday, figure that one out! - and we got a refund, plus a £5.50 voucher "for our inconvenience"!

So hubby and bubs had the fish and chips that was originally meant for Friday, and I had crumpets!!


Now I haven't been entirely honest in my tracking the last couple days, and am not doing the best today either! I REEEEAAAAALLY need to pull it back! I haven't used AAALLLL my weeklies yet, and I don't want to. So I am going to go out now (in the SNOW) to get looooooads of fruit and all the veg and stuff needed for the next few days food (save going out again!)

It's a heating cranked, PJ's on and a cuppa kind of weekend!!


So tonight is Toad in the Hole

Then tomorrow is Shepherd's Pie, Monday Fajitas, Tuesday leftover Shepherds Pie, and Wednesday Tikka Masala.


And I WILL get back on track!!

We've been given some more leaflets to deliver too, so at least I can earn an AP or 2 back.

Felt a lot better today, though had an awful day - just EVERYTHING seemed to go wrong! 

My shower stopped working halfway through washing my hair - seriously - hair Shampooed and fully frothed, and no water!! Just plain ruuuuude!!! 

Bubs has been SOOOO argumentative, even disagreeing with me when I agreed with him! WHAT is that about?!?!?!?!

I went to the post office, and realised at the till that I had left my purse in the car!

Just one thing after another!!!

Also I had my deliveries to do - am now late with them since I was ill yesterday, although we were given an extra couple days what with bubs having the pox over the weekend, but still ... bubs in tow makes progress SLOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!


I have got to finish them off tomoro, as well as making stew for tomorrow's tea - as you may have guessed I didn't get it done today!!

Also have Asda coming and a pox-riddled grump still off nursery.


Oh, the joyyyys!!

No actual food consumed today, really! Amazing how so little can use up my daily allowance!!

Anyhoo, I had a horrible day, felt awful all night and all day. I was reaaaaaaaalllyyyyy bloated last night, had horrible stomach pains all night and just felt *off* all day today. Didn't really fancy much of anything until after bubs was in bed, then I think I probably ate a bit too much to be honest!

Hopefully eating the majority of my dailies in the evening won't affect my weight too much - I'm hoping the fact that it wasn't actually that much food, just high points, will help :/

I guess we shall see...

Toffee Choccy Philly Cake

This is a variation on the eSource recipe Lemon Curd Cake that I made a couple of weeks ago.




Ingredients

3 medium eggs
100g Caster Sugar
100g Plain Flour
160g tub of Cadbury Chocolate Philadelphia Soft Cheese
30g Icing Sugar
35g Askeys Toffee Sauce
Hundreds & Thousands - to decorate





Instructions

Preheat oven to Gas Mark 7/220Âşc/425ÂşF.
Mist two 18cm (7inch) sandwich tins with low fat cooking spray.

Using a hand-held electric mixer, whisk the eggs and sugar together until very pale and light in texture - this will take about 5 minutes.
To check that the mixture is thick enough, lift up the beaters (switched off) - they should leave a trail for a few seconds.

Sift the flour into the mixture and fold it through lightly but throughl, using a large metal spoon.
Divide the mixture between the prepared tins and level the tops.

Bake the cakes for 8-9 minutes until golden brown and springy to the touch.
Remove from the oven and turn them out onto a cooling rack. Leave until completely cold.

Mix together the Chocolate Philadelphia and Icing Sugar. (I added a little water, ½tsp at a time, until it was more of a spreadable icing texture).
Using a spoon, trickle half of the toffee sauce over one sponge, then, spread half of the Chocolate Philly Icing over the top.

Sandwich the two cakes together, and repeat with the remaining toffee sauce and choccy philly icing.

Decorate with hundreds and thousands.

Store in the fridge!

Well bubs was a little more himself today which was nice, and he certainly had his appetite back!
I managed to stick to dailies again and actually had one spare!

Would probably have used that last one on a hot chocolate if we hadn't got off to such an awful night's sleep with bubs.
His rash is in full force and kept him up all night, SO grumpy! So I don't think our weekend is going to be a good one!
I think he's starting to get them in his mouth now as well, which I was DREADING!!

We also have the deliveries to do this weekend, though we have been allowed some extra time considering that bubs won't be at nursery.

I've had a pretty awful day today, but managed to stick to my dailies by the skin of my teeth!

My little boy has come out with chickenpox, which I was expecting as all the kids at his nursery have had it since half term week, but I didn't expect him to be so poorly with it! 

I don't know where I got the idea that chicken pox was just a horrible rash that made a grumpy child.


He's SO down, lethargic and off his food! I have NEVER seen him like this!

I can't get him to have any calpol, he won't take piriton so I managed to get him to have some hidden in a scoop of ice cream, but he brought that back up pretty much straight away.

He's not moved from the sofa all afternoon and is just so unlike my boy

This week could have been better, I guess - food wise. But I'm really happy with the activity I did, and really thought I would have lost more ....

I lost ½lb.


I know, I know - a loss is a loss. 

I am really just SOOO fed up at the moment of how few and far between my losses are, and when I do lose it's so tiny that they don't even add up.
If it was ½lb a week I wouldn't mind it, but I feel like - when I am good - I try SO hard and it just isn't getting me anywhere.

I mean, yeah I have off weeks, and when I gain I generally know what I've done, accept it and move on.
It's just the (many, many, many) weeks that I am on track and it doesn't show - THAT'S what gets me.

Ugh.

So I have 6 weigh ins left before my hol, and I'm at Goal+9.

If I can do ½lb a week between now and then, I'll be at 10st 4lb, which isn't goal, or even within goal, but it will be a start, eh!

So that's what I'm aiming for. Anything more will be a bonus ... or a miracle - one or the other!

So here goes, brand new week.

I went swimming again today. I've been thinking about changing swim-day to a Monday to counteract the munchies. After all - I can't eat while I'm in a pool can I!

I went today to check it out - see how busy it was etc - and it was busier than when I've been on a Friday, and there were a lot of "young people" in the "Free Swim" section (ie not the lanes) which meant it would be impossible to swim lengths as they were swimming about all over the place.

But when I got there, there was only one guy in the slow lane, so I got in there and after I'd done about 6 or so lengths he got out, so I had the lane all to myself! Woop Woop. 

 That was until about my last 6 lengths, when the lifeguard decided to let a girl practicing her Butterfly stroke into the slow lane.

I mean, seriously 





Anyhoo, I got the last few done so that's another 30 lengths to add to the list

gold star for me! 

I kinda only wore my pedometer for part of the day, but I don't think I would have reached healthy, but I really tried hard in the pool so I figured I would count 2AP (instead of 3) for the swimming.

I have 30 weeklies left, it's 1½ days before weigh in, and I'm not gonna use the AP's anyway so who cares, lol




Ok,  little confession - the photo of the bolognese is actually hubbys plate. I didn't have that much!
I had already started eating when I realised I hadn't took the photo, and his plate looked so untouched and beautiful so I used his, lol

I went swimming again today :)
It was a bit busier, which was annoying as everyone was swimming in zigzags! Ugh. 
But I managed to take breaks a LOT less and just get it done, and did 30 lengths in 41 mins, which is 14mins less than last week! woop woop :)

I also remembered to wear my pedometer today and am determined to get to "earning" mode before bed, so then I can count the 3AP's from swimming.

I used more weeklies than I wanted today so need to be better tomorrow. 
I really need to make the 0pp soup that I've been planning for the last few days but not got round to!

And NO MORE BAKING!!!!!

I think this is the first time since starting this blog that I'm gonna say this ... I do NOT recommend the above WW recipe! (Chicken & Vegetable Pie)

I know that I have made it before, and honestly can't remember what I thought of it before ... but I guess since I didn't make it again until now that I wasn't raving about it!

It was bland, boring and tasted of flour.

I haven't had the best food day today :o/ ....

BUT we did take Bubs swimming! Gotta be good ;o)

I say swimming but there wasn't much actual swimming done tbh.

It was rammed! And it was Bub's first time in a loooooooooong time ... gotta be nearly 2 years I reckon - so I was mostly attached to him via death grip! 

He really enjoyed it tho so I'm defo gonna try and take him sometime in the week if I can when it's quieter, although I am worried about going before nursery (afternoon session) because it really tired him out today!

Also I'm definitely gonna go again during nursery time and get some lengths done! Despite still aching from Friday :/ All that breast stroke pulled some odd muscles HAHA.

Trying my best to stick as close to dailies as possible for the next 2 days now, and BEST BEHAVIOUR on Wednesday before WI!

I AM GETTING A LOSS THIS WEEK!!!!!!
